About Us

Hello! My name is Leslie Greer and my passion with baking began when I was a young girl. Having grown up in Louisiana, food is a big part of Cajun family life. I would always jump at any chance to help my mom or grandparents bake. Some of my fondest memories are making special treats with my grandfather. My favorites were his traditional Louisiana pecan pralines, which I still make to this day, and his very special bunny cake he decorated with my siblings and I every Easter. Later in my teen years, anytime boredom would set in, you could find me in the kitchen whipping up some cookies or other treats from scratch. Our neighbor was a fantastic cake decorator and watching her sparked an interest in me, although I did not act on it at the time.

In May 2001, I was a new stay-at-home mom and looking for something I could do to get me out of the house for a little bit. I decided to take a Wilton cake decorating class at the Michael’s craft store nearby. I knew that I definitely had an interest in it and thought it would be great to just be able to make my children cool birthday cakes. I had no idea it would change my life so much. I immediately fell in love and realized cake decorating and baking is my true passion. I have been decorating ever since!

While I have taken a couple cake decorating classes, I am primarily self taught. I have spent hours up to my elbows in icing to get to the level I am at and am still constantly practicing, trying new things, and reading anything I can find related to cake decorating (hence the name Sweet Addictions!). I subscribe to several cake decorating magazines and internet discussion groups which are a wealth of information on current techniques and styles. I am also a proud member of ICES, the International Cake Exploration Societe, which is an international organization of over 4000 members who all share the love of Sugar Artistry. Through this membership, I attend local and national conventions where I meet with other decorators and share new ideas and techniques for cakes and other sugar creations.

I specialize in custom decorated cakes, cookies, and hand-made chocolates. I also take special requests and enjoy the challenge that they bring. I primarily focus on party or other special occasion cakes but do have some wedding cakes under my belt. All of my items are hand-made, fresh, and specifically for your order. I take pride in using the best ingredients and focus on having products that taste as good as they look.

While my passion is baking and cake decorating, my priority is my family. I am a stay-at-home mom to my 2 children, Madelynne and Ashton, and have been married to my husband Randy for 7 years. My children are still very young therefore I currently take a limited amount of orders. Please be sure to contact me as soon as possible to make sure your date is available. Thanks for your interest!
